happy friday, friends! i am happy to say that this week flew by! temperatures have been frigid here in philly lately, and this weekend will be no different.  there are flurries in the forecast, so i am looking forward to cuddling up and staying warm.  no plans in the books except for a much needed hair appointment.  (getting this yellow blonde <yuck!> back to blonde blonde!)

our weekend

this weekend we packed up our bags and trekked up to raystown to stay with college friends in the mountains. it was so great to catch up with girlfriends, play apples to apples, snuggle by the cozy fire, and sip on yummy drinks!  nothing beats quality girl time! also, i may or may not have thoroughly enjoyed learning to shoot a bb gun ;)

it's a chilly monday morning and i've got some extra time before heading out the door, so i thought i'd sit down with my hot cup of coffee and tend to my long lost blog.  things have been .... a whirlwind since the wedding & honeymoon.  and while i've had no trouble filling up the time that was once devoted to wedding planning, i'm also left wondering where does time go??  i've been living for the weekends, but who doesn't?? this weekend was lovely - starting with a night in: homemade pizza & wine and lots of snuggles..followed by a major "fall" cleaning and a dinner guest...and ending with a baby shower & dinner date with family.

but, perhaps, the best part of this weekend was finally being able to view our professional wedding photos! i don't have access to post them just yet, but they are stunning and i've looked at them at least 4 times through already! each time, noticing something new to love. i can't wait to share them on here & will do that as soon as i can!

it's the weekend!!! one of the perks of my (somewhat) new job is that my weekend starts at 12:00 pm on friday and consists of only a team meeting.  which, let's be honest here, is actually really fun! so i don't really consider my fridays at work "work"... anyway, with the temperatures really cooling down & it definitely feeling like fall i decided to bake some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies when i got home today.  warning: they are addictive.

you will need:
4 cups all purpose flour (i used whole wheat & there is virtually no difference)
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (i always like to add a little extra)
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 15 oz. can pumpkin
1 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optionally; i opted out of this one)

directions:
preheat oven to 375 degrees
in a mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients.  then add the wet. beat on medium speed until mixed. stir in chocolate chips & walnuts. drop by tablespoons on to greased cookie sheet and bake for 13-14 minutes (until edges are golden).  remove from oven and let cool two minutes before moving to a wire rack to completely cool.. then enjoy!

my tip: before baking, i sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon sugar on the cookies for a little extra sweetness;)

5 days to go!

one week from today, shawn and i will be starting off our honeymoon!  i cannot wait to be in aruba, but at the same time, there are so many things happening before that.  i can hardly believe, that about 15 months ago, shawn had just proposed and the planning was just starting.  time has truly flown by! i think i will miss the wedding planning process, but at the same time, i am excited & ready to become a wife and start our married life together.

this week, shawn and i both are only working monday & tuesday.  then we have lots of errands and last minute details to take care it, rehearsal on thursday, wedding on friday, family continued celebration on saturday, and honeymoon on sunday! so excited!!

happy friday, friends! i can hardly believe that labor day weekend is here. that puts us at 2 weeks (read: 14 DAYS!!!) until the big day! i am thankful for a short friday of work, and a day off on monday to get some things crossed off the list.  today we are getting our marriage license, shopping for some items for the honeymoon;), and a few more last minute gifts/details to take care of.

callin all my girls! (the bachelorette weekend)

i don't even know where to start! this weekend was one of the most fun and most memorable weekends of my life! my mom picked me up at noon and we were off to my little courtney's house for a day filled with surprises.  i'll let the pictures do the talking...

the countdown is really on now! with 17 days to go, my brain is in overdrive and the little things are getting crossed off the list with each passing day.  to say i am excited would be a complete understatement ;)

callin' all my girls!

i am so excited for a very bachelorette weekend!  i'm lucky enough to be finished work for the weekend at 12 sharp, so i have set up an appointment for my final dress fitting tomorrow afternoon. i can't wait to slip on my gown one more time! my momma will be joining me, so we will head to dinner afterwards, then its back to my place for a night filled with table arranging for the reception....  or as i like to think of it: a night filled with cocktails and laughs ;)

then saturday morning, i have a quick pitt stop at the hair salon and i'll  be off to part one of my bachelorette bash! i cannot wait! although i don't quite know what is in store, i know it will be a night to remember..

weekend

this past weekend was so, so fun. friday evening was low-key, shawn and i just grilled out and then went out for a drink at the restaurant where we had our 1st date about 6 years ago! it's crazy to think about how things have changed (and somethings have stayed the same) in that time.

on saturday morning Kristen (MOH) and i picked up the bridesmaids dresses! they are STUNNING...even better than had i anticipated! the color is exactly what i was envisioning.  so happy:)

that evening, we were able to meet up with some of the other ladies and their men for some roof top fun, then we headed out on the town.

yesterday was another low-key relaxing day topped off with a neighborhood walk with shawn.

boy, time sure does fly when i'm not working! it has been my first full week off for summer vacation and i have been loving it.  it really makes me wonder when i got things done around the house- all the cleaning, laundry & errands, when did i have time for that?

3 MONTHS!

i'm baaaaack! well life has certainly been a whirlwind around here lately! i can't complain - the end of the school year, family visiting from out of state, oh...and my bridal shower!

let's jump right into the good stuff, shall we?

on sunday, june 3rd my family and bridesmaids planned the most perfect little bridal shower that there ever was.  the devil is in the details...everything from the centerpieces, to the cake, to the signature cocktail, the favors, the photos of shawn & i all throughout our lives hanging so sweetly throughout....the day was literally perfection.  not to mention all of the amazing & generous gifts we received.  i've been floating on a cloud since.  here are a few photos..

wedding planning seriously is the most fun.  shawn and i have been just loving life...i know i'll miss this after the wedding, so i have been soaking up every last drop!  3 MONTHS TO GO!
