5 days to go!

one week from today, shawn and i will be starting off our honeymoon!  i cannot wait to be in aruba, but at the same time, there are so many things happening before that.  i can hardly believe, that about 15 months ago, shawn had just proposed and the planning was just starting.  time has truly flown by! i think i will miss the wedding planning process, but at the same time, i am excited & ready to become a wife and start our married life together.

this week, shawn and i both are only working monday & tuesday.  then we have lots of errands and last minute details to take care it, rehearsal on thursday, wedding on friday, family continued celebration on saturday, and honeymoon on sunday! so excited!!

well, we are back after a 6 day get-away where i feel like all we did was relax, read, eat, and repeat! it was so wonderful to spend time with family & have no time restraints and no schedule.  it was the best kind of vacation.  while away, shawn & i celebrated one year of being engaged.  it was a special day starting out with a little breakfast date, and ending up pool side with a cold drink in hand :)

it's always so hard coming home, back to reality after an amazing time away. but all in all, it is good to be home- to sleep in my own bed! and it just makes me thankful to have such fabulous people in my life!

the start of a tradition

this weekend was absolutely perfect in every way.  as i mentioned last week, we packed up & escaped to the mountains for a weekend away with the very best friends.  it's after times like this, and memories made like these, that i think, wow, choosing penn state was the best decision i ever made.  the people that psu gave me are the seriously the first loves of my life. there's no other way to put it.  i feel so blessed to have friends so close that they are family!

already looking forward to next year's trip!

home sweet home

we are back! after a day full of flying, layovers, driving, and unpacking we are finally home and relaxing on the couch!

it was a fabulous long weekend away filled with amazing food, awesome weather, and fabulous conversations with some pretty incredible people...

back to the real world - this is going to be a little harsh! back to working doubles for the rest of the week & the end of summer....makes me think back to some of the highlights of these past few months: first & foremost! our engagement.. the best day of my life! several bridal showers & bachelorette parties...followed by, of course, weddings!  vacations & time spent with family...an earthquake, hurricane & tornado all in the same week! relaxing and having the chance to read several books.  the start of the wedding planning process...so many memories made this summer!

when our plane landed home this afternoon, i was surprised to feel the coolness in the air.  so, i guess fall is here...i'm looking forward to it:) bring it on! wedding planning, half marathon & football, oh my:)

things have been a leeeeetle bit busy

i started back to work, which means summer is officially over..well after this weekend that is.  shawn & i are jet setting away for the long weekend.  and after what has been a whirlwind of a week, i am certainly looking forward to some R&R with my hunni!  butttt, that means: cleaning, packing, running, & working are all jam packed into one short day!

vacation. brain.

it's a real thing. i've been home since the wee hours of sunday but i think i left my brain on vacay! this was shawn & my first vacation as fiancees' & we both agreed that it was the best vacation we have ever had together.  our time in florida was filled with endless family visits, hours of floating in the salt water pool, massages/manicures/pedicures, a margarita or 2!, a little visit to miami, & lots of delicious, fresh seafood!  here are a few photos from our trip:
