3 MONTHS!

i'm baaaaack! well life has certainly been a whirlwind around here lately! i can't complain - the end of the school year, family visiting from out of state, oh...and my bridal shower!

let's jump right into the good stuff, shall we?

on sunday, june 3rd my family and bridesmaids planned the most perfect little bridal shower that there ever was.  the devil is in the details...everything from the centerpieces, to the cake, to the signature cocktail, the favors, the photos of shawn & i all throughout our lives hanging so sweetly throughout....the day was literally perfection.  not to mention all of the amazing & generous gifts we received.  i've been floating on a cloud since.  here are a few photos..

wedding planning seriously is the most fun.  shawn and i have been just loving life...i know i'll miss this after the wedding, so i have been soaking up every last drop!  3 MONTHS TO GO!

7 MONTHS!

not only was yesterday valentine's day, but it was also the 7 month mark in the countdown to our WEDDING DAY! eeeeeeeks!! i've mentioned before that we usually do not make a big fuss over valentine's day. just a special meal and some good wine, linger a little longer in the hug, snuggle a little closer...you know, the little things. but this year is slightly different.  this is our first and last valentine's day as a an engaged couple. and to me (to us) this made valentine's day 2012 slightly more special :)

so it was quite a lovely surprise when i arrived home verrrry late from work to see a beautiful vase of red & raspberry tulips along with a little love note.  something that i was not expecting. something that was so beautifully written.  i will keep that letter forever.  and probably feel butterflies every time i read it.

it's the little things like this that make me realize & appreciate the meaning of love.  i will always remember what our priest told us at our pre-cana class back in october - it is no coincidence that you are sitting next to the person you are next to. what is happening, is meant to be happening. this is something so much bigger than you can ever imagine. you are your partner's life project, his/her key to heaven.  it is your life's job to get your partner into heaven.

this sentiment has stayed with me in my heart and in my mind. i love feeling like this once in a lifetime love, best friend, soul mate, forever kind of love is so much bigger than us.

when something special happens to us, we turn to each other and say, "always remember." ...
i will always remember...
...the second i knew shawn was about to get down on one knee & ask me to be his wife.
...our giggles & happiness during our engagement photo session.
...the closeness we felt after our pre-cana class.
...picking out our wedding bands & the feeling i got when i saw a wedding band on his hand for the 1st time! ....

i will always remember the giddiness of coming home to beautiful flowers & the loveliest of love letters... and knowing i'll always have a valentine...

{wedding} more engagement photos

what a treat it was to arrive home from work on tuesday evening to find a disc in my mailbox from my photographer with our engagement proofs! i was able to view some of the photos through his website but the disc contains so much more...eeeks! i love every single photo & choosing a favorite is absolutely impossible. here are a few that i just adore... be warned..slight overload :)

a sneak peak

it's sunday evening after a long week and surprisingly relaxing weekend, though it was filled with a decent amount of snow. and although there are a millions things going on in my mind and all around me, i keep sneaking back to the computer to sneak a few more peaks at the engagement photos my photographer sent to me on friday morning. these are just a few, and there are still many more to come, however, i can't help but to get giddy whenever i see these & am reminded of our fun afternoon just two weeks ago.  so, here are a few i'd like to share...

i love the effect of the polariods & am so excited that our photographer plans to use them on our wedding day as well!  more to come...:)

always remember

woke up feeling so blessed this morning. yesterday was filled with fun & excitement as we got our engagement photos taken. when we got home we were still giddy. it seems silly, but the photo session was just so FUN and it felt like we were flirting all afternoon. what girl doesn't love a cute boy flirting with her?

at dinner, shawn & i were talking about how we never want to forget what yesterday felt like. being silly and cute and sweet with each other. i will always remember yesterday with a smile...

playing catch up

this week has been insanely biizzzz-eeee. however, i must make a small tribute to my sweet little courtney, whose bridal shower was this past sunday!  she was completely surprised! the shower was "philly" themed, complete with cheese steaks, soft pretzels, and tastykakes..

on monday night shawn & i had a lovely evening with my adorable cousin and her bf! they joined us on our roof deck for some dinner and drinks.  it was a beautiful night!

we even had some free entertainment - my neighbors were having a huge birthday party complete with a live band, anddd they were awesome! thanks neighbors:)

i have so much to look forward to for the rest of this week.  first and foremost: this is the last week of school! tomorrow i am meeting some former co-workers for dinner. friday is our last day of school, we are done-zo at 12:30 sharp! that evening i will be attending a dear friend from high school's wedding.  the rest of the weekend is jammed pack with family parties & i cannot wait to see everyone!
