i've been mia + spring fever

things have been b.u.s.y. over here! ive been working long hours and any free time has been spent on the couch with my husband (...or catching up on reality tv! what can i say? i'm a sucker for anything on bravo!)

but since today is thursday, that means that the weekend starts tomorrow, and i don't know about you but i have been LIVING just for the weekends.  so i cannot wait!

the days have been dreary here lately.  but this morning i can see a blue sky and i just may need to pull out my sunnies so that is a plus!  i've been dreaming of warm weather & wearing bright colors.  here are some pieces that need to be in my closet ..like now...

friday things

this week has been a whirlwind & i can hardly believe it myself when i say it actually flew by! it was gym & it was work, followed by appointments, and some shopping... glad to have the weekend here!

1. happy to finally be feeling back to myself. that was one wicked stomach bug, lasting just over a week! what the hecckkkk..

2. still excited over details discussed & decided on during last night's appointment with our reception venue coordinator (more to come on that)

3. looking forward to getting some fresh highlights tomorrow. nothing says spring like a little more blonde;)

4. loving our mother's day tradition of whipping up something delicious on sunday for mom

5. heading to the phillies game tonight...let's hope they win!!

friday things

i've been truly enjoying my little spring break.  having small vacation time around holidays is definitely a huge perk of my job. .. a time for catching up on dentist appointments, straightening up the house, doing laundry, and of course getting a little shopping done! last night i ventured out & came home with just a few spring essentials.

just a few of my purchased goodies:)

with Easter this weekend, i really feel like spring is here.  it's not as warm as i'd like it to be, but it is perfect for afternoon walks, and drinks on the deck, long runs, and cracking open the windows to get some fresh air flowing through the apartment.

i woke up with a little spring in my step today knowing that i will be seeing some of my favorite people tonight.  that definitely helps to get through a friday :)

a birthday wish & happy mother's day

this weekend is quite busy (as most are) but i couldn't let one more moment slip by without throwing a little post out there with 2 simple wishes. .

1. tomorrow is my best friend's birthday! happy birthday to the beautiful, hilarious, intelligent, caring, thoughtful courty k! 26 will be a big year for you! a wedding, a honeymoon, grad school...most importantly: YOUR WEDDING!!

winter to summer

holy heat wave! it seems as though philadelphia has gone from winter straight to summer.  yesterday & today were both high 70's, dare i say low 80's...what happened to breezy spring days? i want to wear my light weight cardigans with no jacket!

anyway, i'm over it - i love the sun's warmth:)

in other news - today is ash wednesday! and so, being the good little catholic that i am, i finally (at 7:30am) decided what to give up for lent! my afternoon snack & any/all desserts.  this is a win/win. give up something that i have EVERY day, and hopefully, slim the waistline;) in addition to this, i also like to do something nice everyday. so i will also be making sure to say something nice to someone. by the way, that is a great color on you! ;)

so happy it's wednesday..the weekends do not come quick enough!

it's friday! here in philly the rain is really coming down and it is so windy out there that i'm afraid the top of the house is going to blow off! to top it off, i am home sick with one of the worst head colds i have ever had :( being home alone & sick on a friday like this, makes me want to curl up on the couch and watch a good movie..or catch up on the dvr!...or day dream about spring time:
