a few friday things...

1. it's been a busy week...but it has been a good one! i need time to get caught up on all things reality tv & blogland related..

2. my mom & i went shopping this week..i ended up with 6..<SIX!>..dresses for shower & honeymoon.  so.excited!!!!

3. finished the hunger games series a little while ago.  LOVED book one...book two kept me interested...book three was hard to get through.  i thought it was depressing & too political for my taste.  i am glad i read it however...very different from my typical reads!

4. the weather has been exceptional lately! shawn & i have been out on that deck as much as possible.  one of my favorite things!!

5. i have started researching some must-do's for the honeymoon.  post coming soon:)

friday things

i've been truly enjoying my little spring break.  having small vacation time around holidays is definitely a huge perk of my job. .. a time for catching up on dentist appointments, straightening up the house, doing laundry, and of course getting a little shopping done! last night i ventured out & came home with just a few spring essentials.

with Easter this weekend, i really feel like spring is here.  it's not as warm as i'd like it to be, but it is perfect for afternoon walks, and drinks on the deck, long runs, and cracking open the windows to get some fresh air flowing through the apartment.

6 MONTHS!

it's thursday evening & i'm finally just now having a moment to sit down and get all caught up in blogland...how i have missed thee!!! things have been in full swing around here and i just haven't quite had the time/energy to sit at the computer if there was an opportunity to be sleeping ;)

buttttttttt...yesterday S and i celebrated our -6 month aniversary!!! that's right, only 6 months to go! this past month was all about the BRIDESMAIDS!! three of my girls (the 4th is out of state), my mom & myself had THE best time choosing BM dresses. and to my surprise the process was fairly easy & quick! their dresses are the same fabric as my own dress, so to see them all together looks gorgeous!!

afterwards, we had had a fabulous little lunch & then headed back to my apartment for a girls night. my mom hung in there with us for quite some time.  i think she enjoyed the girl talk & the martinis!

so happy tomorrow is friday! this has been a very LONG two weeks & i am ready for things to get back to normal around here!!

8 MONTHS!

..two days ago, on saturday, we hit our 8 month mark! it's crazy to me how fast this time is going by. i remember when we first got engaged, (7 months ago) thinking that we would have plenty of time.. think about how long it takes for 15 months to come & go! we are good on time, i feel as though the planning is where it should be, i'm super excited that it is going at this rate!

on saturday, my mom & i went shopping for HER dress. we tried all the big department stores. you name it, we were there. while she had on some gorgeous gowns, nothing really wowed us. my mom is not going to wear your typical mother of the bride attire.  she is not one for the usual, and i encouraged her to stray away from that look.  i rarely see my mom in dresses, and with this being my wedding, i really wanted to see her glam it up! we eventually found a gorgeous gown, the most beautiful shade of blue-purple you have ever seen! it's asymmetrical, has a little bit of bling, & she looks like a million bucks in it!

by the end of the day we were pooped! shopping is exhausting! but it was also a memory i will never forget, a day i will always remember of laughs, and giggles, and awkward fitting room posing; the day i helped my mom say "yes" to the dress for MY wedding!
